This year’s free Summer Festival family day in Windmill Gardens on 10 July needs your help in raising funds.

We’re planning the following events and activities:

  • a puppet show at BrixtonWindmill
  • lots of music, including a child violinist, Endurance Steel Youth Band, Zamba Band, soul and folk music
  • stalls connected with wind power, crafts, recycling, bicycle maintenance
  • children’s workshops on bread making, puppetry, singing and dancing.

But we need to raise money to help get the show on the road. Please put your thinking caps on: perhaps by organising coffee mornings at work or home, car boot sales, a cake raffle, a sponsored a bungee jump, bike ride or swim or even a whip round the office, you can help us to raise the funds we need.

I am sure you can all come up with a simple, fun idea of something that you can do in the next four weeks to help produce a great festival at our newly restored windmill.

We really need your help to make this a great day out.

We have new FoWG collecting boxes, so if you need one let me know and I will get it to you.

Please send your cheque to: FoWG Festival, 24 Prague Place, SW2 5ED, or you can make your donation via PayPal on our website at
