The huge turnout yesterday for the reopening of Brixton Windmill has caused quite a stir, with lots of lovely photos on blogs and in other social media as well as press and broadcast coverage. Here are some of the highlights.

Radio London
Drivetime with Eddie Nestor included a package by reporter Anna O’Neill, who interviewed Jean Kerrigan, Chair of the Friends of Windmill Gardens, and local MP Chuka Umunna.

We’d like to thank everyone in the community for their fantastic support and encouragement – we couldn’t have done it without you, and we’re delighted that the reopening brought so many people together to celebrate.

And of course we’re also very grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Lambeth Council and Veolia Environmental Services, and the contractors who worked so hard on the restoration, including Dannatt, Johnson Architects, Stonewest, and Owlsworth IJP.
