Just to whet your appetite for the grand reopening of Brixton Windmill on Monday, here are some photos of the newly restored interior.

There will be guided tours of the windmill on Monday afternoon, starting at about 3.45pm, but numbers will be limited because it is such a small space. However, the windmill will also be open for tours on National Mills Weekend (14 and 15 May) and every second Sunday throughout the summer.

There will be plenty of other activities on Monday, starting with a parade up Brixton Hill from Windrush Square at 2pm. This includes a fancy dress competition for children.

There will also be a performance outside the mill by the Brixton Windmilll Theatre Company at 3pm, music from The No Frills Band and flamenco guitarist Fernando Reyes, and hands-on fun with flour and gingerbread.
