Late on Friday the Friends were told that Lambeth Council, who are the owners of this Grade II* listed building, had made the decision to cancel the opening this weekend (14 and 15 May) because of concerns about health and safety and ongoing final restoration works due to complete this coming week.
The Friends of Windmill Gardens are sorry to be the bearers of this disappointing news but we will be present at Brixton Windmill between 2 and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday May 14th and 15th to provide guided tours of the exterior of Brixton Windmill and to talk to visitors about both its history and the major HLF funded restoration works that are nearing final completion.
